Hey Clint, it's been a long year, hasn't it?

When you guys bought that house in 2014, you didn't think it would require so much work, and while it's been really, really fun to get your hands dirty, but it’s hard to do that and focus on a brand-new baby, isn't it?

Your design and development agency is going great right now. The referrals are coming in and the work is fun but you're not getting paid very much and it's really bothering you. I know. Add to that: you're feeling the stress of where you are in life and where you thought you would be, and they're not matching up. You're not sure what to do with it and while it's really fun to say that you own your own business, in the back of your mind you're saying, "What the fuck am I doing? If only people knew that I don't have it together."

It wasn't too long ago that your three partners told you that you needed to take a week off because they could see that you were completely burned out, but you couldn't. Did your family see it too? Did it affect your kids?

Since this is me writing to you a decade later, I want to let you know that it's important that you get help. Ask for help. Don't try to shoulder this all by yourself. Let people in. Be the most authentic version of you, which is the one that does not have it all together.

And I don't just mean personal therapy. Hire a business coach. Find that person that can help you along your way and really help you move the needle because you're too close to it right now. You don't see what you don't see And honestly that's exactly the way life is anyway. So what are you worried about, that someone will think you're weak? I have news for you, you do have areas of weakness but that doesn't equate to failure. I know that in your brain it feels that way sometimes.

I'm not going to lie, the next 10 years are going to be a roller coaster. But buddy, let me tell you, it's going to be 1,000% worth it. It's not going to be easy and you're going to be really uncomfortable. You're going to have to weather some storms but I want you to hang in there. I want you to embrace a mindset of abundance and I want you to really try to work on those limiting beliefs around money.

Instead of coming at problems with a "woe is me" mentality, I want you to see that the universe has everything that you want and need waiting for you. You just have to step into it.
